FEATURES AND PLACEMENTS

Commercial disclosure.
How paid features work.

Some businesses pay to be featured on The Best Comparison. Here we explain what that can influence and what to consider when reading our guides.

How the website is funded

The Best Comparison publishes guides to products and services. Alongside those guides, we offer businesses paid opportunities to have a product or service featured on the website. These arrangements help fund the work involved in preparing and maintaining our content.

A commercial arrangement can include a dedicated feature, inclusion in a comparison or a prominent placement on the homepage. The business receives visibility and links to its website. This means some of the content you see has been included as part of a paid arrangement.

Paid features and placements

Payment can influence which businesses are included and where they appear. A featured business may receive more space, a fuller description or a more prominent position than other options. You should take that commercial relationship into account when reading the page.

Paid features are identified on the relevant page so you can recognise the arrangement while reading. This disclosure gives the wider explanation of how those placements work.

What Editor’s Choice means

An Editor’s Choice placement highlights a product or service and explains the reasons someone might consider it. Some of these placements are paid for by the featured business. The label is therefore not an independent award or proof that the option has beaten every competitor.

A highlighted option may suit particular needs, but it will not be the right choice for everyone. Consider the details in the guide, the alternatives and the provider’s current terms before deciding.

Reading our comparisons

Our guides bring together published information about a selection of options. They do not cover every provider or product available, and the order of a table or list does not automatically represent a ranking. Where commercial arrangements influence inclusion or prominence, the surrounding information should be read with that in mind.

Unless a page specifically describes testing we have carried out, it is based on available information rather than a hands-on test. A feature, image or link does not mean we have personally used the product or booked the service. Our How We Compare page explains the approach in more detail.

We aim to describe useful differences without making unsupported claims about competing businesses. Prices, specifications, availability and service terms can change, so check the provider’s website before buying or booking.

Links to other websites

Links let you visit the businesses discussed in a guide. Some are included as part of a paid feature or placement. Including a link does not mean that every product or service on the destination website has been reviewed.

If a page uses an affiliate link that can earn us commission when you buy or sign up, that relationship will be disclosed on the page. A paid placement and an affiliate arrangement are different: a business can pay to be featured without us receiving commission on your purchase.

Any purchase or booking is made with the provider. The provider sets its prices, handles payment and is responsible for delivering the product or service, including its returns, cancellation and complaints arrangements.

Questions about a feature

If you want to ask about a commercial relationship, or you think a feature needs a clearer explanation, please use our contact form. Include the page address so we can look at the content you mean.

Businesses interested in being featured can use the same form to ask about a product or service feature or an Editor’s Choice placement.
